My Story

Fru N. is the founder of Threelly, InspiredLiving101, DataNinjas, and many other creative endeavours that spread knowledge to those who are hungry for it.

Why did you start inspired living?

I came from Africa where I didn’t have much. My family was living on less than $5 a day and everyday was a struggle. When I came to America, it was truly the land of opportunity for me. I didn’t have many resources at my disposal. Many kind people helped and were generous to me. In the process, I quickly learned that knowledge is the best resource anyone can have and I have made that my mission – BRING KNOWLEDGE TO THE WORLD, CHALLENGE PEOPLE TO LIVE INSPIRING LIVES.

When people have more knowledge, a lot of problems can be solved, poverty can be reduced, hunger can be reduced, happiness can be increased, relationships can be more solid, life can be overall improved, and love can be more meaningful. I started Inspired Living 101 to spread and promote that knowledge.

What is InspiredLiving 101?

The message is a very simple one:  Life is too short to be Boring. Live an Inspiring Life!

To me…InspiredLiving is about…

  • It’s about being the best version of yourself. Everyone chooses the way in which they inspire those around them. While some choose to inspire others in a negative way, many people dedicate their lives to providing value, meaning, and positivity into the lives of others.
  • It’s is about daily excellence, service and contribution to ideas and ideals beyond yourself.
  • It’s is about earning what you deserve, and deserving what you earn.
  • It’s is about setting goals for yourself and achieving them.
  • It’s is about learning, growing and standing for something meaningful.
  • It’s is about creating your legacy, and recognising that people many generations from now will have something to say about you and your life… and I insist that their message will be “We are glad this person existed”.

All of this can be achieved by embracing one simple mantra: Living Fully | Loving Deeply | Inspiring a Legacy.

What does living fully, loving deeply, and inspiring a legacy mean?

Living Life Fully is about getting the most out of life. How do you do that? It’s about what you eat, how you exercise, your lifestyle choices, and how we chose to live our lives each and every day.

Loving Deeply is about enjoying the life that that you’ve created for yourself. Many people want to become successful entrepreneurs, they want to become milionaires, but to what end? Relationships are what allow us to truly love life. Whether it’s a relationship with your family, your friends, or a significant other, life is meaningless without loving and deeply connected relationships.

Inspiring a Legacy is self-explanatory. It’s one thing to live life and make a million dollars – you can live a rich life but at the same time be very, very poor. What will generations down the road think of as your contribution? If you look at anyone whom we remember throughout history, they have all had a meaningful impact on society that lasted long after they were gone. How will you be remembered and what will your legacy be?

What are 3 personal milestones that made a difference in your life?

The day I was born is the first milestone in my life. When we think about the miracle of life and all of the adversity one faces even before being born – to have my mother fall in love with my father, to be the one sperm that makes it to the finish line, to overcome all of the diseases and germs that could potentially end an infant’s life – it is truly inspiring.

The second is the day I came to the united states, the land of opportunity. Many Americans take for granted all of the privileges they have here, because they have never known anything else. Where I come from, I could have been doing well, but that has an entirely different meaning there than it does here in America. I could have been rich and successful in Africa, but that is still nowhere near as successful as I have the opportunity to be here in America. You don’t have many of even the most basic resources where I come from, but here in America, they are so plentiful.

Accident Picture.

Lastly, I had a bike accident back in 2011 and that was a big turning point for me. I was riding on a bike trail in Minnesota while training for a race. I fell off of my bike pretty hard and got knocked out cold. I almost broke my neck. The helmet was wearing was completely shattered. When you have a near death experience like that, you adopt a new perspective on life.

I can’t say this even louder…Life is too short to be boring! And I mean that.

That accident made me realize that tomorrow is not guaranteed to anyone. When someone suggests something to you and you want to try it, don’t put it off and file it under “to-do someday”. Do it immediately! Do it today! Don’t be boring, going around doing silly and stupid stuff.

Nothing is guaranteed. Each day is an opportunity to live an inspiring life – to live fully.

I was blessed to go through that accident because it humbled me and gave me a totally new perspective on life. I’m still in pain and suffering from the aftermath. But everyday I wake up a grateful person – ready to be inspiring to those around me, and be inspiring to anyone who crosses my path.

What are 3 inspiring things you learned over the course of your career?

It’s not how high up on the ladder you are that makes your life an inspiring one, it’s how you do it. Many people get jobs just because they want a paycheck. They just want to function, do the minimum they can do, and simply exist. You can be a janitor and live an inspiring life if you do your job in such a way that inspires others. I would rather be an inspired janitor than a CEO who has no passion or commitment in his life. That is one of the first things that I learned: that it doesn’t matter what your role it, it’s how you do it that inspires.

The second one is you can have a great story and amazing content, but you still need sales skills in order to get that story into the hands and heads of the right people. When you publish something, people judge you on what you do. it’s easy to create something beautiful and never show it to anyone, but then it’s worthless. Many people fear judgement when they publish something. They fear that other people will hate this thing they spent so much time creating, but only through constructive criticism can we improve ourselves and our creations.

The third one is that there are a lot of distractions and noise out there. There are a lot of marketing gimmicks and pitfalls you can fall into. The internet is littered with them. At the end of the day, it’s only your legacy that matters. If you’re not doing something meaningful, ask yourself why you are doing it at all. Your business flows into who you are.

Your character follows you everywhere, and that’s part of your legacy.

The goal is the keep it concrete and consistent. If you don’t want to be a person who lies and cheats and steals, don’t do that in your business. If you want to be a person who helps to save the planet, don’t get into a business that destroys the environment.

What are 3 things that inspire you to keep going every day?

A lot of things inspire me each and every day. When I wake up, I look at the pictures of my family and see how much they struggled to give me opportunities, and that is very inspiring.

The same thing when I look at people throughout history. When I look at all of the things other people have achieved in the face of adversity, that is very inspiring. On the social side, people like Gandhi, Martin Luther, Nelson Mandela, Mother Theresa and more. On the business side, people like Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Henry Ford and Elon Musk are people like you and I. So there is nothing they did that we cannot do. Their story, their struggles, their achievements inspire me…and it should inspire you too.

Lastly, When I think of the future and all of the possibilities – that we can go places no one else has been and do things that no one else has done, and that I can help be a part of that – that is truly inspiring.

How have you inspired people in your life?

Through my own passion for reading, I have inspired many people who normally wouldn’t pick up a book. Now, hundreds if not thousands of people are reading. Again, the goal isn’t just to read…the goal is to be knowledgeable.

Imagine trying to solve a health or financial issue, if you have no knowledge on those subjects. Silly right? Yet, most people live blindly and have little to no knowledge on the critical areas of their lives – health, relationships, finances, wealth, and happiness. How can you solve problems if you don’t have the knowledge?

I believe Knowledge Solves Problems.

I’m on the mission to spread that message to the world.

What made you start the impossible list?

Living without aspirations is boring, and the impossible list is the ultimate list of aspirations. Every time I look at it, I am inspired to knock something off of the list. I will pick something off of the list, then work towards it until I’ve achieved the impossible. It just makes life more fun.

Remember: Life is too short to be Boring. Live an Inspiring Life!
