Children get coloring books with lines they should color within.
Most obey and color within the lines, but some wouldn’t.
Instead of challenging or disciplining the attitude of those who don’t color within the lines; we should respect and encourage it, for the creativity it bring.
Incorporating an attitude of exploration, and blindly sticking to a bound set by others is how progress is made.
Staying within the lines follows systematic regimen and order, it does not allow thinking beyond the boundaries – it imposes restraint. It has it’s value, absolutely, but it shouldn’t be the only message a child gets.
Thinking in unorthodox ways and behaving in unorthodox ways; not afraid to try something new; being disruptive is how progress is made, and that’s what have given us Uber, AirBnB, Google, e.t.c.
